The Rentokil Terminix Innovation Centre, located in Dallas, Texas, will serve as a hub for research and development, innovation testing, technician training, and driving advancements to enhance public health in North America.
It will bring together a collaboration of its own scientists with leading academic institutions, key stakeholders, and industry experts.
The Innovation Centre will provide a state-of-the-art research and development workspace for a team of dedicated PhD-level scientists with specialisms including termites, mosquito management and residential pest control product development.
The Centre houses an insectary for indigenous and global insects, three independent laboratories, temperature controlled environmental chambers for insect analysis, and training rooms.
The company has an ongoing pipeline of approximately 75 science and innovation projects, incorporating sustainable, non-toxic, and digital solutions.
Upcoming innovation launches and rollouts in North America for 2024 include a new proprietary fly control solution, which in controlled laboratory testing caught 60% more flies in 24 hours than the market-leading external fly trap.
Andy Ransom, chief executive of Rentokil Initial, said: “Our new innovation centre is a further example of our global commitment to industry-leading innovation and investment in our people to deliver world-leading customer service. We continue to set new standards for the industry and differentiate ourselves in the market.
“We are hugely proud of the role our colleagues play in creating and delivering new solutions for our customers; whether a scientific breakthrough from our dedicated Innovation team, or a smart insight from our frontline technicians and expert colleagues operating around the world.”
