PestEx 2013 certainly seems to be breaking records. But if you have not been before getting there can be a concern, as is planning your day once you arrive. To help your day run smoothly, Pest has put together a bit of a check-list.
Travelling to ExCel
Getting to ExCeL they say is easy – people always say that once they have been to a place!
But it really isn’t that difficult – but don’ expect to find time to do your shopping in central London on the same trip, as ExCeL is in the London Docklands area!
As to be expected, you can find on the ExCeL website all the information you need – should you be arriving by air, train, tube, Docklands Light Railway, car, boat or even walking. The site provides some useful maps and even tells you how much the car parking will be.

PestEx opening times
The event runs for two days only.
Wednesday 10 April – opening at 09.00 and closing at 17.00
Thursday 11 April – opening at 09.00 and closing slightly earlier at 16.00
When you arrive
Once you’ve landed at ExCeL, the first thing to do is get into the exhibition. You will have to register and queues, especially at peak arrival times, can be lengthy. So take the precaution of pre-registering, but don’t leave it until the last minute as this facility will close before the event..

Busy, busy, busy
Once in the exhibition hall it’s easy to get distracted and, if not careful, your visit can become a bit of an aimless wander.
Look at the exhibition plan to gain your bearings and identify which stands you particularly want to visit. Make a list so you don’t forget someone. But do build in time to simply browse. Click here to see who is at the exhibition.
Running concurrently to the exhibition is a series of seminars and discussion groups. Again plan which you are keen to attend and be in your seat in good time as these are often well attended. To review the seminar programme click here.
If you are collecting CPD points check out which events qualify. Simply attending the event earns you four points.
If you particularly want to meet someone it’s a good idea to book a time and agree a venue.
Within PestEx itself there is a lounge on the central BPCA stand where you can sit and have a coffee. Outside the exhibition hall, in the main ExCeL lobby you will find a variety of cafes and snack bars. Do find time for a sit-down and something to eat. You’ll need it!
Finally, and most importantly, enjoy yourself!
