Running alongside the exhibition is a series of excellent talks and panel discussions to be held in the seminar and technical theatres. The subjects are wide-ranging and include technical and commercial topics. But, not to be missed, are three discussion sessions where your input is requested.
To be presented in the seminar and technical theatres at the back of the exhibition hall, these presentations run concurrently on both days. Judging from previous years, the popular ones are full to bursting, so it is advisable not to be late if you want a seat!
Subjects to be covered range from bed bugs, to bats, bait station efficacy, waste management, feral bees, urban foxes all the way to net design for gull control and first aid for pest controllers.
On Wednesday morning at 11.00 come-along and discover the results of the third recently completed Pest/BASF National UK Pest Management survey – click here for more details.

Panel discussions – your input sought
There are also three panel discussion sessions. For each, the chairman has gathered together a number of industry experts to share their opinions. But the floor is very much the audience’s. Come along with your views and questions. Make these lively sessions.
Pest control – Possible futures (Thursday 11.00)
To be chaired by Jonathan Peck of the Killgerm Group, this is likely to be a very broad ranging discussion – but where do you see the industry going? Panellists signed-up to date include Steve Miller, from the London Borough of Newham and also head of JLARS (Joint Local Authority Regulatory Service) who was responsible for ensuring that London Games 2012 were pest free. Dave Nubel, MD of Protec Pest Control Services London, Rob Simpson from BASIS PROMPT and Frances McKim, editor of Pest magazine.
A European standard for the provision of pest management services (Wednesday 15.00)
Much has been heard and read about the forthcoming European Standard (aka the CEN initiative) but now is your moment to quiz those responsible for its development. Led by Jacki Davis (MD of Meade Davis Communications and long-time correspondent of the Daily Mail in Brussels) panellists include Bertrand Montmoreau (chair CEPA), Dr Christopher Suter (Royal Society for Public Health), Emmanuel Audouin (project leader Agro-Industry, Bureau Veritas), Rob Fryatt (chair CEN TC404, the committee in charge of producing the standard) and Peter Whittall (group chief scientific officer, Rentokil-Initial and member of the CEN UK Mirror Group).
Franchising – Opportunities for growth (Thursday 15.00)
For pest controllers either thinking of growing or starting their own business, taking out a franchise with an already successful company is one way forward. Come and find-out about what is available from Craig Brittain of the Approved Franchise Association, Tom Luczynski of Orkin and Geoff Whittle of Prokill.
