The forthcoming CIEH booklet entitled ”Pest control procedures in the food industry” has received official support from the Food Standards Agency.
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) has recently produced an excellent series of booklets covering pest control procedures in a wide variety of situations.
The draft of the latest in the series dealing with pest control procedures in the food industry has been out for consultation with relevant bodies prior to finalisation. So, you can imagine how delighted Sabra Fearon, who is co-ordinating production on behalf of the CIEH, was to receive on 19 December a letter (click here to view) from the Chair of the Food Standards Agency, Dame Deirdre Hutton CBE.
In the letter Dame Deirdre says: “The FSA welcomes the CIEH’s efforts to raise awareness of pest control procedures in the food industry and the increased consumer protection that should result.” The comprehensive consultation period has now ended and the booklet will be available in January 2009. A review is to appear in the CIEH magazine Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP). Copies will be available in January from NPAP at [email protected] or by phoning 01924 268433. |
