Over the last couple of years the interest shown by Certis in the professional pest control market has noticeably waned. Take as an example their lack of an exhibition stand at either of the most recent PestEx or PestTech events.
So the official announcement released by Certis on 5 July came as no surprise.
It reads:
“Following a review of the Certis sales strategy, and changes to the Certis product portfolio, we will be going forward with greater emphasis and resources now being placed on both the agricultural and horticultural sectors.
Certis has this week issued a letter to distributor customers to inform them that we will no longer have a full time professional pest control products account manager.
Certis will continue to market Talunex and Dimilin to the professional pest control sector; products will in the future be handled directly by the sales department.
Helen Ainsworth will therefore be leaving the company during the summer months and we wish her well for the future.”
Certis Europe, based in Maarssen in the Netherlands, is primarily a crop protection company. In December 2006 Certis acquired the marketing, sales and product development activities of Leicestershire-based, but Dutch owned, Luxan. |

This included both their agricultural and professional pest control portfolio – the latter Luxan had built-up over the years to include Talunex (aluminium phosphide) and Dimilin – products which are to remain within Certis. The balance of the Luxan portfolio consisted of the BioPren range (S-methoprene), the Vermigon (bromadiolone) rodenticide products, Metradin (deltamethrin), Resolution (alphacypermethrin), Master (chlorpyiphos) and the Ninja wand range of applicators. Helen Ainsworth, Certis Europe’s account manager for professional products, has spent all her working life within professional pest control and plans to continue her active role within the industry. Updated 25 July Helen Ainsworth is to join Barrettine Environmental Health. Click here to read. |
