Calling all pest professionals within travelling distance of Stoke on Trent. Make sure you set aside Thursday 15 October and come along to the Barrettine/Pest one-day technical seminar, which is to be held at the prestigious Stoke City Football Club’s Britannia Stadium.
Pest publications has again teamed-up with Barrettine Environmental Health to offer pest professionals based in the Northern half of the country (Southerners also welcome, if they wish to travel!) a topical one-day seminar. For 2015 the event moves across the Peak District from Rotherham, where it has been held for the past three years, to the Potteries.
Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium is a fabulous, easy to get to venue with plenty of parking. Located just off the A50 and close to the M6 there’s good access by road from points north south east and west.
Rodent control theme Unsurprisingly perhaps, with so many changes afoot, rodenticides are a major theme for the day. There are sessions on life outside SGARs (second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides) and an update and open floor discussion on rodenticide stewardship. Brady Hudson from Bell Laboratories will talk about the role of tamper resistant bait boxes, BASF’s Gavin Wood will give a presentation entitled ‘More power from Storm’ and Kevin Brown from Rentokil Products will look at the Plant Protection (Sustainable Use) Regulations and an alternative to anticoagulants. Other speakers confirmed so far include industry consultant Paul Butt who will be discussing pest control and wildlife with the emphasis on keeping on the right side of the law and Chris Woodard of Pest Control Services, who will provide a welcome break from the rodent theme with a session on Accidental imports of dangerously venomous arachnids. Those of you with a spider phobia – you have been warned! Richard Moseley of Bayer will be outlining the uses of K-Othrine WG250 whilst Pest’s own Frances McKim and Helen Riby will kick off proceedings with an intriguingly titled session ‘How to blow your own trumpet!’ |
Barrettine’s David Haskins, Helen Ainsworth and 2014 speakers, BPCA’s Kevin Higgins and consultant, |

The day is supported by Bayer, Bell, Rentokil and BASF who will all have product information and expert staff on their stands during the breaks, ready to answer any questions that delegates may have.
Free of charge If you don’t want to join MINT you can still apply to come along to the day but you will be asked to make a contribution of £35 per delegate towards the venue costs. For those who stay the course for the full day there will be an opportunity to win free products in a Prize Draw. BASIS CPD points will also be available. Don’t delay – register now!
