Fewer subjects spark heated conversations in pest management than feral bee control and management. Nobody wants to hurt valuable pollinators, and bee relocation can be complex.
At this online debate, taking place on Zoom from 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 7, a panel of experts will be on hand to help explain feral bee control and discuss everything from educating clients to relocating viable swarms and the ethical considerations of treatment.
The panellists
Niall Gallagher, BPCA technical manager (host)
Clive Stewart, Westart Apiaries
Sam Thorpe, Predator Pest Solutions
Diane Drinkwater, BBKA
In this members-only debate session, the panellists will be asked:
- How do we balance public health against harming beneficial pollinators?
- Can all feral honey bees be relocated and should every pest control company learn bee relocation?
- How do we avoid being incorrectly called out to treat what the client thinks are wasps?
You can also ask your own questions directly to the panel and join the debate remotely.
