The British Pest Control Association won the Member Engagement Award at the 2024 Trade Association Forum (TAF) Awards.
Now in its 21st year, the TAF Awards, recognise, reward and promote best practice among trade associations in the UK.
The Membership Engagement Award is given to the association which, in the opinion of the judges, has clearly demonstrated an increased level of membership engagement in the last year.
BPCA’s entry for the award was based on its three-pronged approach to answering the question: “what has BPCA ever done for us?”
It aimed to:
- Develop new benefits with cost-savings for members;
- Communicate existing and new benefits better; and
- Increase the use of member benefits.
Dee Ward-Thompson, BPCA’s head of membership, said: “We’re thrilled that the hard work of our member volunteers and Staff team has been recognised by TAF.
“Our team worked heavily with BPCA’s Servicing Committee to create a series of new member benefits that would provide savings on everything from uniform to IT to fleet costs, as well as shoring up those benefits already in place.
“And of course, we wanted to make sure members got the most out of all these discounts and tools, so we put together a communications plan that involved sending out letters and emails, running a special webinar, writing PPC magazine articles and creating The Big Book of Benefits.”
