News of two sets of companies increasingly working together has recently been released. In the UK, Pest Trader is integrating with Sentomol and Mylva from Spain is investing in Econtrol from Mexico.
Pest Trader and Sentomol
Currently based in West Sussex, pest management industry supplier, Pest Trader is to integrate its business with Monmouth-based Sentomol Ltd.
By combining their activities, Pest Trader will be able to offer its customers a broader range of pest management solutions in the growing insect monitoring and trapping market sectors with the addition of the Sentomol range of specialist insect pheromones, traps and deterrents.
David Loughlin, the founder of Sentomol said: “We recognised the strength of the Pest Trader brand and its international distribution network in the professional pest management market, along with the complimentary fit of our product ranges. I believe by combining our technical and commercial skills we can offer a stronger portfolio to the market at a time when modern monitoring and trapping technology is moving forward rapidly.”
Rob Fryatt, founder and current owner of Pest Trader added: “David and I have worked together in a variety of roles over many years within the industry. It became clear to both of us this was the optimum way forward to continue to develop the Pest Trader brand and portfolio for the benefit of the industry. In addition, it gives me the opportunity to take a first step back.”
David Loughlin will assume leadership of the combined operation. Sentomol will continue to market its full range of pest management products to the horticulture, forestry and animal health markets under the Sentomol brand.
Mylva and Econtrol
Similar synergies have also been realised in the Mexican market. Well known across Europe, Barcelona-based Mylva has seized the opportunities presented in the expanding Mexican market by investing a shareholding in specialist pest control distributor, Econtrol.
A family-owned business, Mylva is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary, so as CEO Albert Picas explained: “We have reached an agreement to enter the Mexican market as a shareholder of Econtrol. We hope the union of these two companies will bring us very positive synergies and new lines of business.”
Econtrol managing director, Benjamin Gá³mez, said: “Mylva is a leading company in Europe. We coincide in many business areas, share values and our approach to te market.”
