The BASIS membership committee has new representatives for NSK (National Storekeeper), FQA (Facts Qualified Adviser) and PROMPT.
The membership committee is in place to provide BASIS members with an opportunity to influence the organisation’s future membership strategy. BASIS encourages members to get in touch with their representative with suggestions of ways BASIS can improve its service, while benefitting associated industries.
A total of six candidates put themselves forward for the FQA representative, and over 350 votes were cast before the winner was decided. The winner, with 41% of the overall vote, is Thomas Merfyn Parry, who has over 40 years’ experience in the agricultural industry.
His expertise has ranged from looking after one of the largest potato growers in the UK, to most combinable crops.
Two candidates put themselves forward for the NSK representative, and over 230 votes were cast. The winner, with 53% of the vote, is John Dodd-Storey, who created a small independent company, Northwold Agronomy, alongside his Wife. In 2020, the site was acquired by Frontier.
Finally, three candidates put themselves forward as representatives for PROMPT, and more than 130 people voted. The winner of the votes with 55% is Chris Davis, who has been involved in pest control for 35 years and believes that technology, education, and willingness to be open minded is very important in today’s market.
